AN ART DECO WALKING TOUR OF CONNECTICUT AVENUE
The tour will include interior access to some of Cleveland Park and Woodley Park's most exquisite apartment buildings from the 1920s and '30s, including Tilden Gardens, Sedgwick Gardens, The Broadmoor, Woodley Park Towers and the Kennedy-Warren. There will be a mid-tour sit-down box lunch at the Broadmoor plus a talk by noted architectural historian and Best Addresses author James Goode at the Kennedy-Warren.
We will begin at 9:50 am at Tilden Gardens, at the southwest corner of Tilden Street and Connecticut Avenue, NW, which is approximately halfway between the Van Ness and Cleveland Park Metro stations, and end at the Kennedy-Warren, which is 1/3 mile south of the Cleveland Park Metro. Street parking is very limited in the area, so we recommend taking public transportation if possible.
In the event of inclement weather, the tour will be held November 12, 2016. Ticket holders will be notified by email in the event of a postponement.
